XXV Majorca Challenge race
The first big cycle race of the year.
Cycling has played and plays a very important role in the sports and activities practiced in our island. It is practiced by locals, tourists and professionals and the island is therefore well suited for them. That is why during the year Majorca hosts various cycling races and the first one of is very close.
It is the XVV Majorca Palma Challenge race, a four day event in which racers are not required to participate daily but rather tend to participate in only one of the races as they are long and not stage races which encourages more aggressive racing. On the 28th
the race Felanitx-Ses Salines-Campos-Porreres will take place covering 174km. On the 29th
the participants will cycle from Pollença to Andratx (162.2km) and on the 30th
the race will go from Serra de Tramuntana to Sóller to Deiá. Finally on the 31st
the race will be held at Playa de Palma and will cover 161.5km.
The race brings attention to many professionals that reach the city to participate in the event. Professionals that will participate and also those that will step by at the event to receive a special tribute at the start and finish line. These will be the two most important cyclists of the history of the Balearics, Guillem Timoner and Joan Llaneras. They are not the only ones welcome½ you are all welcome!
